Introduction:
Discover
the two pearls of the Ukraine on this 5 day tour. After arriving by train to
Lviv you will have time to explore this ancient town. Lviv is an ancient
Ukrainian city, one of the biggest cultural, economical and transport centers of
Ukraine. The city of Lviv played a special role in the Ukrainian nation's
history, first mentioned in 1256. It was a spiritual center for Ukrainians,
their center of the social and political, economical, cultural and educational
life. The city takes the first place in Ukraine by the number of historical and
architectural monuments. It is distinguished for its unique beauty, monuments,
and variety of architectural styles. The central part of Lviv is included in the
UNESCO world heritage.
Then
we go to Kiev; one of the most beautiful capitals of Eastern Europe. St.
Sophia Cathedral is a unique landmark of ancient Rus architecture of 11c. Kyiv'
Sophia is a perfect example of a synthesis of art reflecting the glory and
majesty of the Kyivan Rus. It was the spiritual, political, social and cultural
center of Old Rus. Nowadays of great interest are ancient original frescoes and
mosaics of the Cathedral have preserved their beauty till our days. St.Sophia
Cathedral is one of the chef-d'oeuvres of the world culture and its ensemble is
included in the UNESCO list of the World Heritage Sites.
Kyivo-Pecherska
Lavra is a sacred place of the Ortodox, with its architectural ensemble of
11-19 cc. At present time Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra is an active monastery and a
National Historical Architectural Preserve. The Monastery became especially work
shipped and glorified due to the imperishable relics of the Saints who repose in
the maze of undergrround monastery compound. Nowadays Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra is
simultaneously a state-owned museum and a functioning monastery to have
Theological Academy and Metropoli tan' s residence on its grounds. It is on the
UNESCO world heritage list.
State
Museum of Folk Architecture and Way of Life Ukraine (Mini Ukraine). A Rich
collection of household utensils, labour tools, Ukrainian folk clothes, works of
folk applied art are displayed at this ethnographic exposition. Among structures
of cult and museumâ™s grounds there is an active Kazatskaya (Cossak) church of
the 16 c., as well as Saint Parasceva church of the XVIII c. The museum hosts
all traditional public holidays, festive gatherings, folklore festivals and
fairs. The visitors can partake of dishes and beverages of the Ukrainian cuisine
and in folklore restaurants, taverns and pubs.

Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1:
ROUTING: LVIV
- Arrival to Lviv by train and Transfer to the hotel
- Check-in at the hotel
- Dinner
- Overnight in Lviv
Day 2:
ROUTING: LVIV - KIEV
- Breakfast.
- Sightseeing tour of the city which is a museum in the open-air. Walking tour of
ancient streets with their architectural monuments: St. Nicolas Church of 13c,
John the Baptistâ™s Catholic Church of 13 c., Church of Assumption of Mother of
God of 16-17 cc., Dominican Cathedral of 18 c., St. Yuraâ™s (St. George)
Cathedral. Rynok Square (Market square), Armenian Cathedral of 14 c., Opera
House; one of the Europeâ™s best theatres.
- Lychakivske Cemetery â“ historical memorial with burials of outstanding figures
in culture, science and pictorial art whose names may be found in encyclopedias
of the world.
- Transfer to the railway station.
- Departure to Kiev by train (with a sleeper cart)
Day 3:
ROUTING: KIEV
- Arrival in Kiev and transfer to the hotel
- Check-in hotel.
- Breakfast.
- Sightseeing tour of Kiev â“ the capital of Ukraine. Kyiv is one of the most
beautiful cities of Europe situated on the Dnipro River. Founded in 5th c. Its
rich history is embodied in its ancient architectural monuments. Nowadays Kyiv
is a political, cultural, spiritual center with its unique urban architecture
and magnificent monuments.
- Visit to Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra â“ a holy place of Orthodoxy, with architectural
ensemble of 11-13 cc. At present time Kyivo-Pecherska Lavra is an active
monastery and National Historical Architectural Preserve. Visit to cathedrals,
museums, exhibitions, and caves with the saint relics.
- Dinner-out at Ukrainian restaurant with national folk show.
- Overnight in Kiev
Day 4:
ROUTING: KIEV
- Breakfast
- Visit to the State Open-Air Museum of Folk Architecture and Way of Life.
Wooden architecture of 16-20 cc. is displayed in the museum represented by
living quarters and auxiliary buildings, windmills, churches
- Boat-ride along the Dnipro-River.
- Overnight in Kiev
Day 5:
ROUTING: KIEV
- Breakfast.
- Transfer to the
airport and a final farewell from your guide
