Introduction:

This 5 day tour is a great
introduction to the Stunning Capital of the Ukraine; Kiev and its surrounding
sites.
We start the tour on arrival at the airport and will have an introduction to the
city on your first evening. We will pass by the main sights in the Capital
including the very unique
Bessarabsky market.
The next day is reserved to see the sights in detail visits will include: visit to St. Archangel Michaelâ™s Golden Domes Monastery, St. Vladimir
Cathedral, and St. Sophia Cathedral
â“ a unique landmark of ancient Russian
architecture.
The evening will include a traditional folk show with dinner.
The next day we are off to Pecherska Lavra; also known as the Monastery of
the Caves. Since its foundation as the cave monastery in 1015 the Lavra has been
a preeminent center of the Eastern Orthodox Christianity in Eastern Europe.
Together with the Saint-Sophia Cathedral, it is inscribed as a UNESCO World
Heritage Site.
If you travel here in summer, you will also have an opportunity to see the world
famous opera shows of the Ukraine or an Organ concert.
Rounding out the tour will be a special boat cruise on the Dnipro River

Day by Day Itinerary:
Day 1:
ROUTING: KIEV
- Your English-speaking specialist guide will pick you up from your location in
Kiev (Hotel, Airport, etc...)
- Evening journey along the main street of Kiev; Kreschatik Str. Tonight is
reserved to get acquainted with modern Kiev, the cultural center of the Ukraine;
with the unique architecture and majestic monuments. The sheltered Bessarabsky
market (1912) is one of a handful in Europe. Such masterpieces of architecture
and trade may be found only in Vienna; and Ambassadors of foreign countries are
frequent guests of the market.

Day 2:
ROUTING: KIEV
- Breakfast in the hotel
- Tour the capital of the Ukraine. Kiev is one of the most beautiful cities in
Europe, stretching along the picturesque banks of the Dnipro River. Founded in
the 5TH c. Its rich history is embodied in its ancient architectural monuments.
Tour includes: visit to St. Archangel Michaelâ™s Golden Domes Monastery built in
12th c.; Monument to Princess Olga; Golden Gates - the main triumphal entrance
of ancient Kiev. Its construction is mentioned in the chronicle of the year
1037. St. Vladimir Cathedral built in 19c. This Cathedral is a unique monument
of architecture and arts due to its murals executed by famous Russian artist of
the 19thc: V. Vasnetsov, M. Nesterov, M. Vrubel and others. Visit to St. Sophia
Cathedral â“ a unique landmark of ancient Russian architecture. Nowadays of great
interest are ancient original frescoes and mosaics of the Cathedral to have
preserved their original beauty till now. Saint Sophia Cathedral is one of the
chef-dâ™oeuvres of the world culture and it is on the UNESCO world heritage list.
- Dinner in the National restaurant. Tasting of Ukrainian cuisine and a
traditional Folklore show.

Day 3:
ROUTING: KIEV - PECHERSKA LAVRA
- Breakfast in the hotel
- Excursion to National Preserve â˜Kyivo-Pecherska Lavraâ™ with its museums and
exhibitions, survey of churches and caves on the ground of functioning Orthodox
monastery for men in the 11th - 14th Century
- Dinner at the hotel
- Evening performance in the National Opera House or Organ Hall ( Summer months
only)
- Overnight in a city center hotel of Kiev 3 ***

Day 4:
ROUTING: KIEV
- Breakfast in the hotel
-Visit to Open-Air Museum of Folk Architecture. A rich collection of household
utensils, labor tools, Ukrainian folk clothes, works of folk applied art are
displayed at this ethnographic exposition.
- Among the structures of cult and museumâ™s grounds there is an active
Kazatskaya (Cossak) church of the 16 c., as well as Saint Parasceva church of
the XVIII c.
- The museum hosts all traditional public holidays, festive gatherings, folklore
festivals and fairs; visitors can partake in dishes and beverages of the
Ukrainian cuisine and in folklore restaurants, taverns and pubs.

- Evening boat ride along Dnipro river.
